Avon Valley Concerts

President's address

It is my great pleasure, as President, to open the 42nd season of Avon Valley Concerts.

You have always shown such warm appreciation of my time with you and your enthusiastic reception of the music makes any concert here very enjoyable. At a time when classical music in educational establishments is given less attention than in the past, societies such as this are more important than ever.

An opportunity for young people to experience live performances by musicians of the highest standards is extremely valuable and never forgotten. It is encouraging to know that concerts over recent years have been very well attended, and audiences have included a wide age range. The sheer enthusiasm of the musicians and the wonderful skills and emotions they bring makes every concert so enjoyable, even at times bringing new and unknown music to unexpected levels of excitement.

My heartfelt thanks go once again to all of you who come to the concerts and to financial supporters, patrons, and sponsors. Together you make it possible to continue providing enriching and enjoyable classical music experiences locally and at an affordable price. I must also add my thanks to the committee of Avon Valley Concerts for their hard work, all done on a voluntary basis. Once more they present an interesting and varied programme

of concerts for the 2026/2027 season.
